Had this old refrigerator many years and done well. In last two weeks, simply not cooling well. Frige 42 F and Freezer 20 F. Fan blowing in side, coils in back clean. All seems find. Only note that compressor is very hot. I see no fan by it to cool it - so assume didn't ever have one.

Any ideas?

Yes, this is a 1984 model and does not have the condenser fan next to the compressor.

You'd need to take everything out of the freezer and remove the back panel from inside the freezer and see if you evaporator coil is all frosted-up, normal would be just a thin layer of frost on all the coils.

If not all frosted-up and you only see some of the coils with frost on them then your compressor is starting to go bad, at that point you'd need to go refrigerator shopping.
