I have an older Maytag, model LA9400, about 30 years old. It fills, but doesn't advance at all. Won't agitate or spin. No buzzing or clicking to indicate that the timer is working. We want to give it a go with fixing it ourselves, as we can't really afford a new one right now. Any ideas on what it might be or what steps we can take to troubleshoot?

Thanks,

Hi,

I fixed it for you to say Maytag.:)

On this model you have a lid switch and a check switch, if one is bad it will not advance after it fills.

Here's the check switch for your model(Video included in part link to access/replace it):

Watch this video to ohm test it: http://www.anrdoezrs.net/links/8373913/type/dlg/https://www.repairclinic.com/Video/Video-Landing/632-/Washer-Not-Spinning-Draining-Switch-Testing-Troubleshooting

Here's the lid switch for your model: W10820036 Lid Switch Kit

Lets us know what you find.
