Portable Air conditioner recommendations

So I know, portable air conditioners suck, but the new apartment complex i moved into only allows portable as the window units leak and damage the brick. Any suggestions on a portable air conditioner? My unit is 800 square feet.

but it seems kinda expensive.

I don't know that it makes much difference. They all come from offshore and many are very possibly made by the same manufacturer, Choosing a popular brand might help with getting service or repair parts down the line (see the following link). I bought a Danby but it could be made by anyone.

BTW. Don't get an oversized one (like I did). They don't dehumidify unless they're cooling. It can make a room more humid if it cycles off too often.
