On Sunday my wife and I used the broiler in the top oven in our GE Profile wall oven (PTD7000SN3SS). After we finished, I noticed that the light would not shut off. In addition, if you try to turn the oven on you get a prompt that it is "Paused" as the door is open. The plastic piece that shuts the light off when depressed (in the bottom oven) does not seem to be working in the top oven. I did turn the breaker off and on, but that did not do anything. The oven is current in Sabbath mode, which prevents the light from being on all the time.

The oven is 15 months old and thus I assume out of warranty. Any suggestions.

I did look up the door latch assembly and I believe it is part # 150 below. I was not able to find a video showcasing the replacement and it seems like a fair amount of parts would have to be removed to get access to the latch. I'm not confident in my ability to do it successfully. Aside from the door latch what could it be?

Yes, I agree, that upper oven door/light switch that comes with the door latch assembly has likely broken.

I don't have the service manual for this model that would show you how to replace it.

That is the correct part you posted, if you click this link to it: Latch Asm WB10X28391 they possibly have the service manual and instructions to replace it.

Make sure you turn the breaker off to your double oven first, if you do it yourself.

Other than that, you can contact GE at 1-800-432-2737 to have a GE tech. come out and do it.

If it is the door latch assembly about how much should I expect to spend on a tech doing the repair?

Probably about $150 to $200.
