• ** REMEMBER! **The microwave can still shock you even unplugged!!

ALWAYS discharge the high-voltage capacitor first if you even think your hands will come close to any HIGH VOLTAGE components.

Jeff mentions this: Anything in the high voltage ( magnetron, capacitor, diode, wires to and from ):
...Use a metal ( not the shiny chrome type ) screw driver with a insulated handle to short across ( touch both at the same time ) the terminals of the high voltage capacitor to discharge it.

Recently replaced the HV Transformer that had one primary input terminal burnt off. There are three input terminals. Between the first terminal and the burnt terminal the resistance reads .6 ohms. Between the burnt terminal and the third terminal (slightly larger spade terminal) the resistance reads .2 ohms. Between the third terminal and the first terminal the resistance reads .6 ohm. Can anyone tell me what the third terminal is for and can I use it in place of the burnt terminal. My mains is 120 volts. Thank you in advance
