• ** REMEMBER! **The microwave can still shock you even unplugged!!

ALWAYS discharge the high-voltage capacitor first if you even think your hands will come close to any HIGH VOLTAGE components.

Jeff mentions this: Anything in the high voltage ( magnetron, capacitor, diode, wires to and from ):
...Use a metal ( not the shiny chrome type ) screw driver with a insulated handle to short across ( touch both at the same time ) the terminals of the high voltage capacitor to discharge it.

I have removed two bolts from the cabinet that insert down through the cabinet floor into the microwave mounting kit top. Nothing gives way though, and I see no other bolts or screws to loosen. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi,

Some have spring loaded hooks at the back bottom and you need to pull down on the release tab(s). Sometimes the vent hood can get caught and prevent the microwave from rolling forward to come off of the mounting plate.

Thanks, Jeff. You were exactly right. The vent hood was holding things up.
