Hello!
I'm on my second one of these systems, the manual calls it a PNRV12ZBL.
The reason I'm on my second one is that I noticed water running from the "product" water faucet to the drain, constantly. I assumed this was due to a faulty system, so this one was returned for credit, and I was given another from a family member. This one does the exact same thing.
I would still assume this to be faulty equipment, however, there is a drain line FROM the faucet itself. If this wasn't a design "feature", there shouldn't be one, except maybe from a bypass valve to the drain. On top of that, under troubleshooting in the manual, it says that hearing water running from the unit to the drain is normal.
I calculated the amount of water the system uses (10 minutes of collection from the drain line into a measured container) and it came out to over 1000 gallons a month down the drain!
At the point I discovered that, I was sickened. That is a LOT of water being wasted for no reason, and there is nothing in the manual I can find to even clue you into this. I'm surprised this product was allowed to hit the market.
Does anyone have any insight or other experience with this system that could shed some light on what is going on, if abnormal?
Thanks!
