The model # of my fridge is RF28HFEDBBC/AA. This fridge is displaying 74 degrees on the external display, when I have changed the desired temp to 38 degrees. The internal temp is closer to 36 degrees when set at this temp. To see if the fridge was responding to any change in temp, I increased the set temp to 44 degrees and it is still showing 36 degrees, which makes me think that the defrost sensor is not working appropriately. Is it that simple and if so is the link the correct replacement for the sensor? Does the sensor actually send the signal to the display board to show the appropriate temperature? Does it make sense that the external display board would show 74 degrees when the inside is so cold and the coil and drip tray have ice forming? Is a $20 part going to be my fix?
