FIXED RF28HMEDBSR/AA Samsung Refrigerator - Freezer Light Stopped Working

Hello. This fridge is approximately 18 months old. The freezer LED light or lights all the sudden stopped working. All other lights in the flex drawer and fridge still work.

I've tried cutting the power to the entire unit, but that did not help.

There's a pressure switch in the freezer with part # DA34-00047B , but I'm not sure if that's the issue or not. There's also something in the back left corner on the freezer wall, but not sure if it's a switch or something for the light.

Anyone else experience this? Thanks in advance!!

Hi, I have the exact same refrigerator and freezer light issue that you had. I've only had the fridge for about 16 months and the freezer light does not work at all. Were you able to figure out what the issue was?

Did you ever resolve? Same issues led board and switch both test good.

- check out this video. The outer shield of my cable was busted as were four of the wires inside. I soldered them back together and shrink wrapped the whole thing. has been working great ever since.

Thanks, I found that video and another one. Mine was also busted with 3 wires being broken. I soldered them with extensions without removing the entire harness, what a pain in the ass. I also shrink wrapped them but only the individual wires, forgot to put a bigger diameter piece on the wire before I soldered so I taped it back up.

I'm going to look for some generic plastic plug ends that I can use and if it happens again, I'll cut it way in the back and way up front so I can just swap out new sections with a premade (by me) harness that plugs right in.

I have this problem after 4 years. The light does not come on when the freezer drawer is opened. It was intermittent then dead. Repair man said it's the control board that needs to be replaced but it's no longer available. Not available for recent purchase? I guess I'll have to learn to live without the light.
