Hello everyone!
I did search the forum but didn’t have any luck really.
My Aunt has a Samsung RF4287HARS/XAA refrigerator. The other night her power went out for like 13 hours! And since it came back on the fridge won’t do anything.
I checked voltage to the outlet, so that’s fine.
I found this info elsewhere and tried it but that also didn’t work.

“First, press and hold the Energy Save and Lighting buttons. This will perform a soft reset. If that doesn't work, press and hold the Fridge and Freezer buttons for ten seconds for a full reset”

I’m thinking maybe the control board? I found one for like $185.
Anyone else have any suggestions or ideas on what could be wrong?

Thanks and it’s great to be here!!

Hi,

Yes, the control board PCB is the culprit

Check to see if you have any numbers after the final "XAA" in your model number.

Model RF4287HARS/XAA-0000 uses this main PCB:
DA41-00684A Assy Pcb Main

Models RF4287HARS/XAA-0001 and RF4287HARS/XAA-0002 and RF4287HARS/XAA-0003 use this main PCB:
DA92-00233D

Thanks for the reply!
There doesn’t appear to be any additional numbers. Here is the pic my aunt sent me…

You seem pretty confident that’s the issue. Did you experience a similar situation?
Not doubting you, just curious.
I really appreciate the info!

Yes, I had this same issue in local area with one my local customers, and the new control board fixed it.

Per the model number tag in your photo--->This model then would default to a RF4287HARS/XAA-0000

The control board should have the part number on it too, if you want to verify that.

Thank you!
One more quick question…
How much of a pain is it to replace? I didn’t even look at it that close yet, I figured I do a little research before I dive in.
Is the board in the door or accessed from the back?
I really appreciate the info!

Thanks Robert, I missed that completely.

Yes, revision 1.

This video gives you the general idea of how to replace the main PCB:

So I finally got a Chance to work on this fridge (instead of just getting pictures of it).
I’m thinking it’s the inverter board. See attached pics. lol
I’m guessing there’s a chance the control board could be damaged as well. So I ordered both.
I took my chances with used stuff on eBay.
$40 for the control board and $12 for the inverter board. Can’t beat that!
Oh and The guy on eBay said the board you guys recommended is not correct.
So I got the number right off the board and ordered
DA41-00683A. It looks exactly like the one I have.
Or are those 2 part numbers the same thing?
Either way, thanks for the help! I really appreciate it.

DA41-00683A--->No results found on any OEM part sites.

So did you already install that board?

$40 for the control board and $12 for the inverter board. Can’t beat that!
That sounds too good to be true, how can they sell that for such a low price and make any money from it?

Just remember--->If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is too good to be true.

This is the OEM inverter board for your model: DA92-00215C Inverter

I know. I was thinking the same thing.
But I got it and it worked!
I only replaced the inverter board.
So I still have the main board for a spare.
I’ll attach screenshots so u can see the exact ones I got and the prices.
They were used. That’s why so cheap.
Only 2 things not working now are the ice maker and some of the segments on the front display are not lighting up.
I took the ice maker assembly completely apart. Everything seems to be working.
I think it’s just not getting water for some reason.
Maybe a solenoid? The water on the front works fine and I replaced the filter.

When the ice maker cycles check for 120 volts at the water inlet valve.
