Samsung French door refrigerator RFG296HDRS/XAA-01 the ice maker not producing ice.
The ice maker makes whirring noises, but no ice is formed.
This refrigerator has two ice makers, one that dispenses through the door and one in the freezer.
The through door water dispenser and the ice maker in the freezer work fine.
The ice maker in refrigerator that dispenses through the door is the problem.
Tried the reset button no chime.
The water inlet valve is located in the water filter case assembly.
I have watched the videos on removing and replacing the ice maker and/or the water filter case assembly.
I have found no reference to how to test the water inlet valve contained in the water filter case assembly.
Would the fact that the second ice maker in the freezer works eliminate the water inlet valve as the possible problem?
Are there three valves, one for each ice maker and one for the water dispenser?
How would one determine which unit is at fault…the ice maker or the water inlet valve?

Some additional information…I see some of the common problems with the Samsung ice maker are freezing causing blockage with solid ice, or leaking water.
My ice maker has neither of these problems.
Looking inside it is clean and dry. Just no ice being made.
Is the problem the ice maker or the water inlet valve???
Would like to know how to test to determine problem.
I don’t want to have to purchase one part and then find out it was the other.
