I have a 22 yr old 40gal A.O. Smith gas hot water heater that has a burn out burner and the burner is no longer produced(per A.O. Smith parts). So I'm in the market for a new hot water heater and I've seen some decent aged used units on FB marketplace for around $200-250 for a 6month old Rheem with a two year warranty remaining. I'd heard somewhere that Rheem was Chinese owned and they don't make a great product anymore and service was not great either. If I am looking for another gas unit that I can get a 20 year run like I got with the A.O. Smith What are your thoughts on A.O. Smith,Rheem and other brands you'd recommend for durability?

A.O. Smith is much better IMO.

But I sure would not get it from Facebook Market Place.

I'd get it NEW from Lowes or Home Depot or any hardware store or plumbing store in your area.
