Hi, I have a roper dryer that for some reason blew the thermal fuse. The i bypassed the thermal fuse and found the motor to run normal. When the timer is set to any setting besides off the heating element heats up and the only way to stop it is to turn the timer to the off position. This happens before the dryer is actually started. I have disconnected the power harness to the motor having only the thermostat, the switch, the timer and the heating coil stays on when the dryer is off but the timer is set to anything besides off.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks :)

Model is REX4635EQ2 type #: 122-00

Thanks

Yeah i pulled the heating element and didn't notice any touching but i did notice the frame the coil sets on is cracked right down the middle and part of it is separated from evidently over heating. I purchased a new heating element, thermostat and motor for it today. It was having issues drying the cloths all the way before this happened and i saw online some saying it was the motor. So i guess it'll be a old washer on the outside but new on the inside lol. Thanks for the help.

I had one the other day that cracked and the element/metal was moving from the heat and touching the frame when it came on.
Likely your trouble maker!
