Attempting to start a cycle, washer drain starts and after about 30 seconds it attempts to fill with water, then the light switches from whichever cycle I had selected to Smart Auto (no other lights).

I read this was a water supply or water temperature problem, so a couple of days ago I ordered an inlet valve and replaced it today. The problem persists.

I removed the drain tube and poured water into the base, started a cycle and it drained just fine. I watched through the side of the plastic while I attempted to run a cycle and I see it is filling with water. Also turning a cycle on and opening the dishwasher in the first couple of seconds, I can see water going in, just maybe not enough?

TLDR; I replaced the water inlet valve and water is definitely going into the dishwasher, but I still have a water supply/temperature error.

Hi,

Yes, when SMART AUTO is flashing its a WATER SUPPLY ERROR. Did you check to make sure you had plenty of water pressure to the dishwasher water inlet valve? I always turn the water supply line off, then remove the water supply line to the water inlet valve, then get a bucket or container to catch water in, then put the supply line in the bucket and turn the water supply on and see how fast its going into the bucket, it should have a very strong stream of water pressure into the bucket.

Here's the service manual: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1L2ILYWIqLo7ZpCLBhOBVR_V2SN9C6fRo/view?usp=sharing Look on Page 49 where it says WATER SUPPLY ERROR.

In the chart under CHECKING METHOD do steps 1 through 9

If you look at that chart you will see where it says--->7. Check whether the water supply stops after water is supplied for 5 seconds--->Replace the ASSY CASE BRAKE which is including flow meter.

Here's the ASSY CASE BRAKE for your model:
Water inlet and sensor chamber DD82-01373A

Let us know what you find.

Checked the water supply hose by removing it from the washer, placing the end of the hose in the sink and opening the shut off valve. Water sprayed heavily. Replaced the ASSY CASE BRAKE, still does the exact same thing.

That's very odd, that should of fixed it.

I don't know what else it could be per the service manual, it doesn't mention what else could cause it.

Its best to contact Samsung at 1-800-726-7864 to come out and see what's going on.

I thought I should chime in on this Samsung model, Lord knows there’s enough issues with it. To summarize my problem, the unit would power up, I would hear (I think) the pump start to make noise, but NO 120VAC power to the water valve. The ”Smart Auto” diagnostic code would then blink, obviously because of lack of water. Most of what I have read, as well as the step by step (9?) diagnosis page indicated the circuit board as the culprit, which it was. Board replaced, unit operating normally again. (But for how long??!!)

Thanks for letting us know the new control board fixed it on yours.(y)
