I have a Samsung DMT400RHS. When starting it makes a very loud growling sound as it goes through a drain cycle before proceeding with it's wash cycle. The drain cycle before washing is expected.
I've removed the lower washing arm and spun the electric motor it turns freely with no wobble from bearing wear.
I've tip the dishwasher over and removed the drain pump, it too spun freely with no wobble. Both pump impellers are in good working.
A one way rubber flapper valve that is set at the point where the gray water enters the drain pump, is deteriorated to the point that the rubber flapper lay un attached at the bottom of the drain. I cleaned this out along with a few other bits of plastic, but the growling persistes. I would be happy for advice.
