Hello,

I recently replaced the heater element that had cracked in my dryer, as well as the idler pulley and dryer wheels. Cleaned up inside, put it back together, and now the dryer will turn on just fine, all lights work and I can run through every setting. But, when I start the dryer it will run for 5 seconds, stop, and beep once. If I start the dryer twice more after consecutive beeps, all indicator lights will come on and the Extra Low temp light will be blinking indicating a heating error (the dryer thinks it is getting too hot). My wife took a picture of the wires before I took everything apart and I made sure to wire it up the same way. The way the motor starts and stops fine makes me think that it is not the motor.

I have checked continuity on the:
Thermal Fuses : ~0.08 ohms on both
Heating Element : ~ 9.8 ohms
Motor (Blue and Black wires) : ~1.2 ohms

I may have flipped the fuses upside down when I reinstalled them into the housing, would this matter?

Do those continuity numbers look normal?

Hi,

The problem is possibly your motor, but check your wiring first.

Here's the motor for your model you can order:
DC31-00055G Motor

There is a Video included in part link that shows you how to replace it.

Another member had this same problem and the new motor fixed it:

Three members here same thing:

Let us know how it goes.

Hey Jake,

Thanks for the reply. I switched up the wires running to the high limit thermostat and it is running fine now. So no need for me to replace the motor, yet at least.
