Hi all,

So I threw some clothes in my Samsung DV203 dryer and hit start only to hear a loud *CLUNK*. Now, although the timer is counting down, the dryer isn't spinning or warming up. In fact, it just sits there with the timer running down and no other noise or movement whatsoever.

Time for a new dryer or easy fix? :D

Thanks!

Hi,

It sounds like the belt or Idler pulley broke. Watch the videos in each part link below to see which part broke. Make sure you unplug your dryer first!

Here's the belt for your model(Video Included):

Here's the Idler Pulley for your model(Video Included):

Let us know what you find.

Yeah, I read that those were the likely culprits. Somebody told me if I enter diagnostic mode, it might tell me if it is something else though. Except my darn manual doesn't tell me how to get into diagnostic mode. Does anybody know how? Most of the button combos I've seen online are *not* correct.

Nope, sorry I don't know how to get into diagnostics on this model, but you don't really need to, all you do is take the dryer apart and see if the belt or idler pulley is broken.:)

That CLUCK noise tells me one of the two have broken.:)

It's the drive belt, you were correct :)

Now to try and install the new one and get everything back together....i give myself 25% chance of success
