Same old thing with Samsung. A fridge in one of my rent homes is freezing fresh food. The fridge is displaying 44deg. A secondary thermometer in the fridge is reading anywhere from 16deg - 34deg. Everything started when my boy lived in the house. It would pool water under the crisper drawers. So I added the foil insulation kit and the longer tab to the drain. And also new drain tubes in the back. That fixed the water problem. Now my boy is gone and I have a new renter. This has been a on and off again problem. I replaced the temperature sensor (generic one from Amazon). And while I was at it I replaced the Defrost Bimetal Thermostat (generic from Amazon). That was about 10 days ago. I thought it had fixed the problem until today when the renter called and said her milk and eggs were frozen again.

I still had the old temperature sensor I had taken out so i tested it following instructions from this discussion. I got my water down to 32deg (had a thermometer in it) and got a ohm reading of 13.5

Next steps?

Thanks.

That's about normal, so its possibly a faulty control board.

What is the complete model number of the refrigerator, because Samsung makes 2 different control boards per the last 2 digit revisions numbers.

RF263TEAESG/AA-00
RF263TEAESG/AA-01

I don't see a revision number in your photo of the model number tag. What is the the part number on the control board say it is?

Unless there is another tag somewhere other than inside, I don't know what revision it is. Am I correct in thinking to access the control board there is a panel on the back you remove?

Thanks

Bill

Yes Bill, pull the refrigerator out from the wall, then unplug it, then you should see a cover on the back exterior wall of the refrigerator, its behind that cover.

Here is the board that is in it. As soon as I took the cover off I could smell burnt electronics. But I didnt see anything on the board that looked burnt

Ok, sounds good.

Installed the new board. The temp on the fridge says 45. The thermometer inside reads 32. So the new board did not fix the problem. What would be the next step?

That's very odd, that control board should of fixed it.

What was the part number of the temperature sensor you replaced the first time?

This shows to be the refrigerator temperature sensor for your model: DA32-10105X

Look here:

I used a generic replacement off Amazon. (Later saw people saying how bad these were) DA32-10104N

Link to it.

Yes, its always best to use OEM parts.

Finally got around to installing the new circuit board and temp sensor. Both OEM from the links above. My renters still complaining about food in refrigerator section freezing. So I traded out the entire fridge. This one is now sitting in my temp controlled shop.

I put a wireless thermometer in it to track the temp. I have not opened the door since. Attached is a screen shot of the past days temp swings. Goes from about 42f to 22f. With the upper temp slowly getting lower over time. It is also strange that the humidity swings wildly at the same time the temp does.

See the attached photos

I'm going to attach a voltage meter so I can track if the temp swings are at the same time it is running.

I have this same problem on the same model Samsung fridge. Did you ever figure out what the problem is? My fresh food section is freezing food. I did find some ice build up in the chase that runs from the cooling area down to the deli drawer. Other than that no ice build up at all. I tested the 2 temperature sensors that I could find (one clipped to a coil behind the back panel of the fridge, and one attached to the damper in the deli drawer). Both tested fine. I'm curious what to try next? Fridge is set to 41 degrees and thermometer inside is reading 20 degrees.

I installed a new board (panel on back of fridge to get access), and the new sensor Jake listed above. I used the OEM parts. This helped but is still not right. I have the fridge set at 40. I put a glass water in it with a temp probe. It stays between 33 and 36 deg most the time.
