Hi all,
I bought a used refrigerator and they said the ice maker didn't work. This is one of the Samsungs that has the notorious issues with the ice maker freezing water in places it shouldn't. I bought and installed the updated ice maker kit (SAMSUNG DA82-02698A ICE MAKER KIT), mine came with a new control board as well. I used an inspection mirror to put the water line in the correct place, and used the Samsung 3140 RTV DA81-05595A Epoxy Adhesive on the inside as instructed. I also bought the new updated ice door and ice bucket assembly (Mfg #DA97-14504C) and corresponding updated ice bucket assembly latch plate ( Mfg #DA97-14471A). I fired the fridge up and verified the door water dispenser was working (hooked up the water line and plugged the fridge in). I made sure the child lock wasn't on and that the ice maker was ON by enabling it on the touch screen. The "rod" in the ice maker gets frozen, but there was no ice after many days. I replaced the filter just to make sure that wasn't an issue and there still isn't any ice. It seems to me that the ice maker is not filling up with water. Yesterday, I removed the whole Assembly Case water filter (DA97-14472D) where the water inlet valve is and replaced the water inlet valve (Mfg #DA62-04027A). The door water continues to work fine, but there is still no ice. I have tried resetting the ice maker many times by holding the button down on the right side of it, but it still doesn't work.
I feel like I have replaced all the parts that would prevent this from working and I am at a loss of what to try next. Any ideas? I read a couple of threads on this website and many people suggested making sure the arm is down that checks for how full the ice maker is. I don't see an arm on this model and I believe it uses some sort of induction sensor.
Thanks much,
Ed
