I've been working on these about 2 years. The Samsung's that have the open box on the top left, the coil freezes around ice maker and stops making ice, if bad enough, cannot get the ice tray out.
We have been having them defrosted and putting a new ice maker in, as well as putting silicone around the box. After two years of doing this many many times though, I've come to the conclusion this does not fix them, it gives the illusion because the ice maker is now defrosted, but it comes back weeks or months later.
My question is, have I been doing this wrong? Is there an actual fix for these ice makers, or do they just fail by design? Thanks
THE MODEL IS THE ICE MAKER, NOT THE UNIT.
