• ** REMEMBER! **The microwave can still shock you even unplugged!!

ALWAYS discharge the high-voltage capacitor first if you even think your hands will come close to any HIGH VOLTAGE components.

Jeff mentions this: Anything in the high voltage ( magnetron, capacitor, diode, wires to and from ):
...Use a metal ( not the shiny chrome type ) screw driver with a insulated handle to short across ( touch both at the same time ) the terminals of the high voltage capacitor to discharge it.

Hello.

I made the mistake of getting all Samsung kitchen appliances two years ago. My $1.3K dishwasher is already broke, and now my Samsung ME21R7051SG microwave is giving me a -SE- code. I removed the panel in front, disconnected all the connectors (there is no ribbon cable that I can see), and connected everything back up, but still the code. How do I determine if it's the control board or the touchpad itself? The stupid touchpad is integrated into the door so if that is the problem, I will just throw this microwave into the trash because the whole door with the pad is $220, about 3/4 the cost of the whole microwave. Any advice? Anyone have a service manual for this model?

Thanks for any help.

Mark

I don’t see a service manual so unfortunately I won’t be of much help. I can verify the SE is a comm failure of UI. In those in door UIs, there may be a UI driver you can check for voltage.

I'm in the same boat! I took the door assembly apart but couldn't find a way to get to the touchpad. In my case I am certain the SE code is caused by the touchpad (specifically the area marked as +30 seconds). I know this because I used a suction cup to pull the surface away from the panel at that spot and the SE Error immediately goes away. If I can find a way to get to the touch panel and either clean or replace it, then I would be good to go. Has anyone figured out how to get to the touch panel?
