Hi all,

Thanks for the help with the washer in another thread.

My neighbor just gave me a free Samsung oven from 2013. The bottom bake element is completely open when ohmed but everything else works. Only diagnostic code I get is "NO EPP". Any idea if this is something to worry about?

We're wanting to upgrade to this one from our standard Whirlpool oven since it has two dual element burners, a convection bake, and a warming center. My question is: Are the Samsung ovens as bad as their fridges or washers? It looks nice and the bake element is only around $100. The controls work fully, and the convection and broil elements heat up just fine. Our Whirlpool might need a new gasket since it's letting enough heat through from the oven to burn us on the edge when in use, so this is a good excuse to swap it out to something we'd rather use.

Thanks for any input.

I located another thread for this NO EPP code here:

They don't seem to be too bad.(y)

Thanks for the response and merry xmas. I looked over the other thread and I don't have the same issues with heating that they did. I've gotten a new bake element and the oven's been great, but still has the "NO EPP" code. Nothing is wrong with it that I can tell. I even emailed Samsung tech support asking what the code meant and they just fed me some generic script about the oven door without even reading my question:

"While still cooking, you can clear the error by opening and closing the door a few times for about 3 seconds at a time. This will allow for the release of warm air and force some out of the vent. You can also turn off the oven and leave the door open for 1 minute to let it cool."

Tried that and the error code is still there. Oh well. It's going to remain a mystery for now I guess. Just weird it's not even mentioned in the manual.

Merry Christmas!

Yes, that is odd that the NO EPP code is still present, that's a mystery to me too.

Glad to hear the new bottom bake element is working great.(y)

Here's the bottom BAKE element for your model, in case others need it too:
