Hello everyone, ran into a problem with my Samsung oven Im hoping to get some help on.

My top burners light and work fine but the bake function started acting funny last week and now is completely dead. My igniter was glowing earlier during my diagnostics but it is no longer now. I have 120vac to the igniter and to the gas bake valve but no gas and no igniter glow.

An observation I made earlier was that I was able to get some flame out of it if I lit one of the top burners while trying to get the oven going. After turning out the top burner the oven flame slowly went out. Im thinking gas valve and (now possibly) an igniter but I need some help on this please.

Hi,

If you are getting 120 volts to the oven bake glow bar igniter and its not glowing then its bad.

Here's the oven bake glow bar igniter for your model:
DG94-00520A Assy-Hot Surface Igniter

Thanks for the reply Jake. According to the diagram it looks like the igniter is tied into the gas valve somehow (going off memory-dont have the diagram in front of me) I assume it would be some kind of safety feature to have them tied together so neither could operate independently?

They are tied together in the circuit, what I'm saying is if your getting 120 volts at the bake igniter glow bad and its not glowing, then its bad and will never tell the oven safety valve to open to let gas through.

UPDATE: got the new igniter installed last night and she works great! The only difference was the new one came with a single plug and the old one had two individual plugs. Just had to remove the terminals from each and swap plugs. Thanks for the help. Christmas is saved here!
