Our Samsung NX58H9950WS/AA gas oven range has become troublesome in the last 12 months. A repairman replaced the igniter and we were able to use the oven without problems for a couple of months. The oven stopped heating and strong gas smells. Same repairman replaced the igniter again thinking it must have been a faulty part. We're experiencing similar issues several months later. Broiler works. When oven is set to Bake, strong gas smell, booming sounds, internal temp stays around 190 F. So this is the 3rd replacement igniter that has failed us. I suspect there's a different part that needs to be replaced that is causing the igniters to work too hard. Any thoughts?

Added correct model number

Is he for sure using Samsung OEM parts? If he’s using a generic igniter, it could definitely burn out quickly like that. I’ve had good luck with the Samsung parts...

He was not using Samsung parts. I guess we could order the official Samsung parts ourselves and call him back to install it?

Thanks! NW58H9950 should be NX58H9950WS/AA

When you first start the oven ON BAKE, It should take less than 60 seconds to open the gas valve and the gas to come out to light the flame.

You can also amp test it to verify that, by checking the amps from either of the two oven BAKE igniter wires, when the oven is set to BAKE and ON 350.

Amperage range is 3.3 - 3.6 amps. You will need a Clamp style amp meter to check the amps when its ON and GLOWING.

If the Amps are lower than 3.3 amps when its ON and GLOWING, then your oven igniter is weak and will need to be replaced.

Here's the OEM Samsung BAKE igniter for your model:
DG94-01012A Assy Hot Surface Igniter

If aftermarket oven bake igniters are what he's putting in, then that is the cause. All parts we link you to here are OEM parts.:)
