Samsung Refrigerator RSG257 does not cooling

Neither the refrigerator nor the freezer are getting cold.
Display diagnostic mode shows error code 88 88 consistent with normal function.
Compressor buzzes softly. The bottom of the compressor is faintly warm to the touch. The back of the fridge where the compressor is has a fan, and it is blowing out cool air.
Fan works in the freezer and no ice buildup in the freezer.
I checked the inverter board and the control panel. The LED light is steady on consistent with normal function.

what are the odds the compressor is dead?

Yes, then that indicates the compressor has gone bad, it would cost more to fix than its worth.
