Our Samsung RFG237AARS stopped making ice. I've verified water inlet valve is functional, water pressure sufficient, cleaned lower freezer drawer and checked for frost that might be blocking fan. While opening the freezer I noticed that a sensor and cover on the roof of the freezer had broken off. The part appears to be DA97-02019A, sensor assembly and cover. The two wires are no longer attached to what they had been. Could this be the issue? I've found a replacement part on-line but need to know how to access to repair. One wire broke inside the cavity in the freezer ceiling and not much is exposed.

Yes, with that sensor being disconnected from the wiring that could cause the ice maker not to make ice properly.

Here it is:

That maybe a challenge to repair, but if you have a soldering iron you can solder that wire onto the new sensor wire.

Your welcome.

challenge will be if enough wire is exposed to strip back.
Yes, I agree.
