Hi all,
I'm in the middle of a Spider arm/flange replacement. Waiting on parts.

While cleaning up the inner tub, I noticed the plastic ring that fits inside the front rim of the inner tub, is half filled with water. My question is: is the water supposed to be there for some unknown reason to me?

If not, should I just leave it be? or should I drill a few small holes to let it drain, now, and during use? I'm thinking it seeped in there over time, but is unable to drain out. Part no longer available, as far as I can tell. The ring appears to be two pieces press fitted together, but I'm afraid that trying to separate them will cause irreparable damage. I also understand there is some damage that occurred to the face of the ring (due to spider arm break), but I'm thinking/hoping it will not greatly affect the operation of the washer once put back together.
Thanks
