My washer threw this OE code, or over flow/fill once. The machine was still filling. I turned the machine off, it quit, restarted the machine, and it ran fine. A month or so later, it started doing it on the hot/warm water cycle. Even after turning the machine off, the machine would still fill and pump out water at the same time. I had to turn the water off at the wall to get the machine to stop. It now does this on even the cold water cycles. I have noticed I can run a quick wash and it runs fine. Do I have a board problem, water valve problem, or the water sensor problem? I was guessing at first the water valve, but both hot and cold going out at the same time and not on the quick wash cycle?

When this happens, unplug the washer from the wall outlet and see if the water stops flowing in, if it DOES NOT stop flowing in when unplugged, the water inlet valve is the problem.

Check your model number tag for a revision number after the "A2" because if the water DOES STOP flowing into the washer with it unplugged, then you have a siphon or control board problem.

It does not stop flowing when I unplug the machine, I have to physically shut the water off at the connections. So water inlet valves it is. Thank you.

Found the parts on Amazon, and I guess you get what you pay for. Parts worked fine, until I reconnected the water hoses. They never would tighten down enough to pull the collar down and the hose tight against the water valve. I had to double up on the hose washers to keep water from spraying everywhere when I turned the water on. However, I have run several loads now and no more pesky OE codes. Thanks Jake.

Yes, that's why I don't recommend getting parts from Amazon, but your free to get them where you want.:)

Glad to hear your back in business.(y)

Well, I have discovered a new problem. Not sure if this is related to the old problem, but now the fabric softener doesn't completely dispense. I have tried cleaning the tray, the area where the trey goes, ran a rinse and spin, taken the tray apart and scrubbed all 3 compartments and still have the same results. Any ideas because the detergent and bleach work fine.

Its possibly related to the parts you got on Amazon, since it was not doing this beforehand.

So, I have thought about this for a few days. Long before the water valve problem, the machine would 80-90% of the time have water left in the fab. softer reservoir that would drain out when we opened the tray door that we would do to let it air out to help prevent mold build up. I ran a rinse and spin with the lid off and both water lines are getting water going to the compartment. After, the machine worked fine. A load or two later, the softener compartment was again full, but with what appeared to be a mix with water. When I opened the drawer, it drained out into the machine. Do I have a compartment problem that needs to be replaced since it doesn't drain normally?

That's possible, I remember the old Whirlpool ones used to get gummed up and would not drain properly, and I'd advise the customer to soak it in hot water in the sink with baking soda to make sure it was clean and clear in the port hole.

Turns out the solenoid that sends water to the softener side was not working. Replaced water valve and now it works as it should.
