I have this water heater and it has two led lights. It was installed in 2003
One on the top and one on the bottom.

The bottom one is lit on while the top one is not lit.

I do not know what these lights are and if they are indicating anything.
The Hot water seems ok so far.

Yes, Top and Bottom of the Tank. Sorry I should have mentioned that.

I believe that's a dual element heater and the LEDs are indicators when the element is on. If you're not using a lot of hot water, just the one element is needed to maintain the temp. I don't have a wiring diagram for that heater so see if the LED is wired to the thermostats

Hello,
I am running low in hot water. Only one person can take a hot shower and then we have to wait 30 minutes to get the tank hot again.
I noticed that the top red light does not turn on, but the bottom one turns on.
Does this mean that the top element is bad and needs to be replaced?

Rick @rickgburton has been out sick since Jan.12th 2022 with a serious illness, we are hoping and praying for a speedy recovery!

You will need to disconnect power to the water heater and ohm test that top heating element to see if its bad or not.

Your welcome.
