• ** REMEMBER! **The microwave can still shock you even unplugged!!

ALWAYS discharge the high-voltage capacitor first if you even think your hands will come close to any HIGH VOLTAGE components.

Jeff mentions this: Anything in the high voltage ( magnetron, capacitor, diode, wires to and from ):
...Use a metal ( not the shiny chrome type ) screw driver with a insulated handle to short across ( touch both at the same time ) the terminals of the high voltage capacitor to discharge it.

Sharp carousel microwave Model number A-930 will start to spin and then stop after a few seconds. Somtimes maybe for a minute.
Can this be fixed?

Hi,

Model# doesn't come up for me. Please recheck.

will start to spin and then stop after a few seconds. Somtimes maybe for a minute.
You mean the turn table stops turning?
If yes, possible broken/cracked drive block or bad turn table motor itself.

Yes it is older 2001.
It does spin sometimes.
If it was the coupler that was bad could it spin at all?

If cracked or worn the amount of weight put on the tray could/would allow it to work intermittantly.
We always try the easy stuff first....if the coupler is ok then we must access the table motor and check for power to the motor...power there and the tray is suppose to be moving but is not would indicate a bad motor.
