After a kitchen remodel, I notice my dishwasher runs the pump twice each time it drains the unit after the wash or rinse phases. I don't remember it doing that before, it seemed to only pump once each time--but perhaps my memory is bad. It's easy to hear both the motor and the water dumped into the disposal under the sink.
It drains the unit, pauses for about 4-8 seconds, then runs the drain pump for a shorter interval. Is the double pumping normal?
Also, what should I do with the extra slack in the drain hose? It does go up in a drain loop, but is curled around under the sink because it is longer than it needs to be. That leads to water sitting in the curls. The Bosch install manual says don't shorten it.
There is plenty of water in the sump below the screen after the complete cycle ends. Not sure if this is normal too, but perhaps the motor just can't get everything.
