We have the Bosch SHP65TL6UC/07 (silence plus 44 dba) and today it completely stopped working except that we can hear the motor/pump running right away when it's plugged in to the outlet. There are no lights on the control panel, none of the buttons work. We can just hear the motor. Any idea what the problem and the solution may be? Someone suggested water in the base pan but would this cause all of the lights on the unit to go dead? And none of the buttons to work?

Thank you!

Hi,

Bosch dishwashers are very common for bad terminal blocks. So that's where I would start looking for the problem. Make sure you turn the breaker OFF to your dishwasher first before accessing/checking the terminal block.

I have the same model and the same issue

What is the resolution?

I have never replied to one of these before but I had the same problem and found my problem. The bottom of the dishwasher has a completely enclosed plastic tray. In this tray there is a flood switch. About a four inch round foam disk. When there is water in the tray the foam disk floats up causing the flood switch to activate. When the flood switch makes it puts the dishwasher into a help mode for lack of better terms. This starts the drain motor to pump out any water in the dishwasher and locks out the control panel so that it can not be used.

My first though was a control board due to the strange situation the unit was in. There was no water on the floor, no water leaking into the basement below. I pulled out the dishwasher and looked into the base pan. Sure enough there was water inside and the flood switch was floating. Clean out all the water in the tray and turned the breaker back on. The unit went back to normal mode, motor off and control panel had lights again. Now I had to find the leak. Started the unit on express mode to try to find the leak. Looking into the bottom on the left side of the unit (left when looking at it from the front) with a flashlight there was a small leak. It was coming from the water inlet valve.

Ran a full load in the unit with only a few drops appearing in the plastic bottom. Turned the water supply off to it when not using it. New part is on order only $40 Canadian. This saved me a least a thousand dollars. Almost bought a new unit. There is very little information out there for these units, not too sure why. I hope this helps someone else. In my disassembly of the unit i also found the wiring diagram with instructions how to put the unit into diagnosis mode. The instructions are located in the kick plate. Remove the two phillips screws then there are two more torks screws holding on a steel plate. When the steel plate is removed the paper is sitting right there. Good luck and I hope this saves the next person some money also.
