Jake or another repair rep,

This isn't a repair question, but wanted to know about the following features found in Maytag model MEDC465HW.
  • Sensors monitor moisture and air temps for consistent results
  • Heavy-duty motor spins the drum to handle large loads effectively
Do these features offer significant improvement as opposed to dryers from Whirlpool/Maytag featuring the AUTODRY drying system and a regular duty motor?

Regards,
Gus

Hi,

Looks like the same motor used on most of their dryers today.

Do these features offer significant improvement as opposed to dryers from Whirlpool/Maytag featuring the AUTODRY drying system and a regular duty motor?
So it looks like....nope.

Wow, thanks for confirming that.
I also compared Maytag MEDC465HW ( advertised with heavy duty motor) with the Whirlpool entry level model YWED4850HW that I bought. And as you mentioned previously, I also confirmed that both motors have the exact same part number.

Glad I bought the Whirlpool. Was feeling a bit of buyer's remorse and thought I would have been better off by spending a little more on the Maytag.
No longer the case.

Thank you again.
Regards,
Gus

Whirlpool now owns Maytag so they should be "close" to the same.
