FIXED UMC5200 Maytag Microwave Runs when door opens

My maytag microwave (all Samsung parts inside though) started having issues last night. I can turn it on and it works, then if I cancel it/the time ends/microwave no longer running, and I open the door, the microwave starts back up with the door open. I have tested all 3 different door switches, and they all test as good with my multi-meter. What could be the problem? Thank you for any help you can offer

Make sure that the primary door switch and secondary door switch are normally open or have continuity with the door open. Then the monitor switch should be the opposite...normally closed with the door open. Also be sure you check continuity with the switches unplugged. If switches test good, it is likely that the latches or latch body is worn enough that it will not make proper contact when shut. Can you provide the last three digits of the model number and the FCC ID from the label? Some models have a thermostat that will run the vent fan when it gets too hot.

thank you. The model number is UMC5200BAS06. the FCC ID is A3LMW2206. Just an FYI, when it started happening, I had it on the baked potato setting that causes a lot of moisture - not sure if that had anything to do with it at all. But even after 24 hours it was still acting the same. My husband checked all 3 switches and they have continuity. One of them he cleaned off the contacts and it now works normally, but not sure if that will continue. Also, that particular switch #81331c FD-63 the plastic button that can be pushed in doesn't have the same clicking sound as the other 2 switches - could that be a problem?

Yes that switch is the culprit. Good find! I would replace all three switches with the switch holder, it’s much easier. Remember 2 switches are the same and one the opposite. With the door open one switch will have continuity and 2 will not. Test the switches with the wire connectors off. Make sure the microwave is unplugged. These switches carry so much current that cleaning the contacts is futile. Don’t take them out of their holder and get them confused take pictures of the wires beforehand so you can put them back in the right spot

Thank you, again, for the help. My husband replaced the top switch, and the microwave is working correctly again. Easy $11 fix!
