Hi All,

Last night the top drawer on my Kenmore 465.13349600 started making a clunking sound at the beginning of the wash cycle and not washing.

I took off the bottom cover and noticed a leak and the wash circulator pump and was very hot.

I took off the pump and ran water through it and made sure everything was seated ok. When I installed it back in instead of a clunk, it made a small hum every few seconds.

Below is a pic of where I found the leak.

So I have two problems 1) Leak (pic below) and the 2) Wash pump not working.

Can anyone tell me what I can do to test the pump with a multimeter and any possible causes for the leak? Part of me wonders if there is a plug in the internal piping which I will test next.

Seems the pump is discontinued but I did find one here: WP99003730

I haven't worked on this model before, hopefully another tech or member can shed some light on it for us.

By the way, what was the final outcome here in your last thread, can you please update it? Thanks!

Jake

Hey Jake,

Thank you. I posted in the other thread - I didn't do anything but the drain pump continued to work.

For the current issue, we decided to replace the dishwasher. My gf was never crazy about the drawer type and felt it limited space so we ordered this one:

Reviews are mostly good and my Kenmore appliances (which are made by Whirlpool) have lasted ~15 years (with some repairs of course) so hopefully it will serve us well.

I likely could repair this one with a new pump but figured it was time to retire it.

I agree with you on that decision.(y)

That's a good Whirlpool dishwasher!

Thanks Jake - hope this one lasts as long as the other. I can't complain getting as much life as I did out of it!

Yes, that is true.:)
