Jeff quit smoking and it's been about a week now, right Jeff? So give a man who hasn't had a smoke for a week a baseball bat and 5 minutes and you want to watch?? ...shutter.... I wouldn't want to be within a 100 miles!!

I just ordered a new board, but before I install it, I would like to try and clear the error code ? Is there a step by step on how to do this ? There is too much for me to handle on the tech sheet. I know just enough to be dangerous. Thanks.

Only thing I could find...

To invoke the Diagnostics Cycle, perform the following
while in standby:
■ Press any 3 keys in the sequence 1-2-3-1-2-3-1-2-3
with no more than 1 second between keys.
■ The Service Diagnostics Cycle will start when the door is
closed.
■ To rapid advance 1 interval at a time, press the
Start/Resume key. Rapid advancing may skip sensor
checks as some checks require 2 complete intervals.
NOTE: While in the Diagnostic Cycle, the Start/Resume
feature is turned off (for example, Auto Resume after door
interrupts) and the Start/Resume key becomes an interval
advance key.
■ Invoking Service Diagnostics clears all status and last run
information from memory and restores defaults. It also
forces the next cycle to be a sensor calibration cycle.

That did it. YOU MUST RUN THE DISHWASHER IN DIAGNOSTIC MODE TO CLEAR OUT THE MAIN BOARDS MEMORY. I believe what happens is once the heating element fails, the main board will no longer deliver power to the heating element. Running the machine in diagnostic mode will put the dishwasher back to its original factory resets.

Thanks for the hint. Had the same issue with my dishwasher. Changed the broken heating element but heating still not working. After running the diagnostic cycle the new heating element worked
