My 4 year old Whirlpool Dishwasher (WDT920SADM2) is causing a lot of issues off late. The dishwasher runs but leaves dirty dishes. So when I checked, the water is coming into dishwasher and draining of the water is also working. But when the dishwasher fills it don't hear the water spraying in dishwasher. I am not sure what's broken?

Hi,

Yes, It's most likely a bad wash motor, this has become a common problem as of late, many members here have reported the same. In fact I had 2 this past Sept. 2018 in Parker, Arizona that did the exact same thing, and the new wash motor fixed them both.:)

Look at post #7 here: FIXED 665.13472N411 What to check on why it only washes about 5% of the cycle.

I'd first check to see if your getting 120 volts to the wash motor when it should be in the wash cycle. His Kenmore 665 is made by Whirlpool, and uses the exact same wash motor yours does.

Take the wire connector off the wash motor and use your multimeter to see if yours is getting 120 volts when it should be washing, if so and it's not running order the wash motor below.

Here's the wash motor assembly for your model:

Here's the video to replace it:

Thanks Jake.Is there any way I can change the wash motor with pulling the dishwasher out? Can I take out out pump assembly without pulling the dishwasher out and change the wash motor?

The video should be basically the same, maybe not exact, but you'll get the general idea.

Let us know how it goes.

kalla - I know this thread is old, but I have your exact model and need to replace the same parts (sump and motor assembly). The videos I have seen do not show my exact model. How did your replacement go? Was the video above really close to being accurate to what I can expect? Any advice is much appreciated. The parts will be here in a couple day. Hoping you see this message. Thanks!

Yes the videos helped me. I did not remove the dishwasher from the cabinet. I removed the pump and motor assembly as shown in one of the videos above and replaced the circulator motor. It took me 3 hours to remove and put everything back. Also I needed a special pair of pliers to tighten the oetikar clamps for the circulatir motor.

Thank you! I'll be giving it a try this week.
