I have a new WDTA50SAHZ0 Whirlpool dishwasher that has been working fine for about 2 weeks. Today I got an E8F4 code. When I pulled the toe plate I saw the float switch was tripped due to water. After emptying that out and reconnecting everything I restarted a cycle. The water inlet is completely dry, but there is a drip every few seconds coming out of the black hose right next to the water inlet on the left side of the machine. I'm not exactly sure what this is or why it's dripping out into the tray. Any advice you could provide would really be appreciated.

Hi,

Less than 1 year

Still under warranty?...if yes, don't mess with it much and void your warranty...call for warranty service.
Some warranty help links.

The water inlet is completely dry, but there is a drip every few seconds coming out of the black hose right next to the water inlet on the left side of the machine.

Part breakdown for the fill area hoses. Maybe the hinge or hinge spring has rubbed against something?

Yeah its under warranty, but the company I got it from has been a challenge to deal with to say the least. If it was something easy I'd prefer to just take care of it and not deal with the hassle of taking time off work to schedule a 4 hour repair window weeks from now.

Gotcha!

Might be a good idea to pull the unit out a little and run a short cycle so you can get a better view of what or where that drip is coming from.
