We have a Samsung front load washer , 9 years old , that runs fine on cold wash cycle, but when warm or hot wash cycle is selected, it’s giving out a very bad burning smell. We are thinking the heating element might be the issue, but doubtful if it’s like a sensor issue. Any ideas? Appreciate the input.

Hi,

No, because the heating element only comes on in the sanitize cycle setting.

Its likely the solenoid of your hot water inlet valve that is giving off that burning smell.

Here's the hot water inlet valve for your model:
Water Inlet Valve DC62-30314K

There is a video in the part link to show you how to access it.
