Something fishy is going on with my Samsung front loader model #WF42H5200AP/A2. I was using a volt meter to test some outlets and noticed it was lighting up when got near the washer. Then I pulled out the multimeter, and saw that the voltage read .2 to 2 volts all around the machine. I tore off the top lid, and tested some more spots and noticed upwards of 7 volts running along the framing. Next thing I check is to see if my outlet was grounded, of course it was not. So I'll have to get that fixed.
But what is causing the entire machine to be energized? Wiring thats gone bad? I did noticed that the there was a leak from the detergent dispenser. Could a detergent have gotten on some wires and caused it to fault?
What are some common errors that I can test and trouble shoot? Is there any T/S that I can do, like unplugging some connections, and breaking the circuit and see if that does anything? Also breaker is not tripping. This is happening with washer just on (plugged into outlet), and not running.
