Our duet washer is giving an F3E1 error during the cycle. I believe this code refers to a water pressure switch/sensor fault. After replacing the switch (located on right side at the top of the machine) it appeared the issue was resolved. However, after about five loads, the error message occurred again. I blew air through the top of the hose (not into the switch) and had the same result; several loads washed without incident but then the error message reappeared. Blew air through the hose again with same result, error occurred after several loads.

Any ideas as to what else could be tripping this code would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

I located a service bulletin for this error code, I'm attaching it below.

Its has to do with the air trap assembly aka Air Dome assembly.

The manufacturer has replaced part number W10626116 with part number W10903220

Here it is for your model you can order(Video is included in this part link):
Air Dome W10903220

Let us know how it goes.

Jake,

Thanks for the response. Cleaned and inspected air trap assembly, there was no blockage. Reassembled and washed several loads until receiving F3E1 error code again. Seems that code comes after unit tries to drain for abnormally long period.

Appliance tech came out and ran quick diagnostic test and though pressure sensor switch was bad. He though that new switch (a whirlpool part) may be defective or perhaps the main control unit.

Any additional ideas would be very helpful.

Thanks again

Do a rinse/spin cycle with no clothes in it, then when its about to drain, Pull your drain hose up from the drain pipe and see how fast the water outflow is coming out the drain hose, you should have a strong stream coming out, not a weak flow.

F3E1=PRESSURE SWITCH / PRESSURE SENSOR ERROR
The CCU detects an out of range pressure signal. The use of analog pressure sensor or digital pressure switch is model dependent, but the procedure to detect this error does not change.
Possible Causes
• Check pressure hose connection from tub to pressure sensor. Is hose pinched, kinked, plugged, or leaking air?
• See TEST #7 (Pressure Sensor/Switch).

Did you locate your tech. data sheet underneath the top panel of your washer? Did you or the tech do TEST #7?

Jake,

Many thanks. Performed test #7 procedures. Continuity good, 5v coming from CCU. Replaced the switch (again) and the air dome assembly and it looks like the problem is solved. Completed more than 10 loads without an error message. I noted that replacement air dome is slightly different than the original, looks like the internal rubber extension portion has been eliminated.

Thanks again for the knowledgeable input.

Excellent Beginner, glad to hear you're back in business.:)

Yes, that's likely the fix Whirlpool did in redesigning that air dome.

Thanks for the update!
