WH31S1E Mini fridge - Warm freezer, compressor always running. Defroster?

I have a mini fridge with a separate freezer. The fridge stays somewhat cool but the freezer does nothing as far as I can tell. I can hear the compressor running 100% of the time. It seems a little bit warm on the top and on the side.

Research tells me it could be the defrost timer, but I don't know where that would be?

Is there massive frost build-up inside the freezer?

This a NOT a frost free model, meaning you have to manually defrost it when too much frost build up in the freezer.

Ah, well that makes sense, but no there's nothing frozen anywhere in the freezer. I already defrosted it - wasn't really sure if it was self defrosting or not at that point, but it had already stopped freezing.

I just got a thermometer for the fridge part. I was surprised to see that it's right where it should be, about 37 degrees F?

Yes, that is very strange, because the freezer should be 0 degrees when the refrigerator is 37 degrees.

I have no clue why that's happening, sorry. This is a model I'm not familiar with and I was not able to locate any tech. data on either, so you'd need to contact Whirlpool for support on it.
