Hi

My washer is banging during agitation only, no banging during spin.

I took a look at the drive system and found a lot of slop between the cam and spring loaded wheels in the basket drive. I've attached two photos showing the amount of slop: the fist photo shows me pointing at the cam rotated fully clockwise before it hits the wheel, the second shows it rotated fully counter clockwise. As you can see it's rotating almost a 1/4 turn before contacting the small spring loaded wheels. The reason the wheels are not always in contact with the cam is that the 'drum' is so small that it compresses the clutch arms to the point that it leaves this slop. I bought a new backet drive and it's the same.

I'm assuming this slop is the problem, causing the cam to bang back and forth against the wheels during agitation, as everything else seems fine. Maybe someone installed too small a 'drum' at some point?

Thank you for any assistance.
