I have an older whirlpool cabrio platinum washer model number WTW8900BC0. The unit has power as the inside light still works but the display does not work or any of the buttons. I can leave the unit unplugged for a few mins and it will beep when its plugged back in. Is this a display board bad? I had this issue a few years ago but left it alone for a few month while out of town and it started back working. Any idea?

Could be the user interface(display) control board or main control board that is causing it, or even a loose wire connector between the two.

I'm attaching your data sheet below, on page 1--->DIAGNOSTIC: Unsuccessful Entry--->Indication 1: None of the indicators or display turns on. Then you can do the steps it says where it says Action.

Here's the parts diagram for your model: Parts for Whirlpool WTW8900BC0: Control Panel Parts
#7 is the user interface(display) control board.
#1 is the main control board, but its no longer available.
