Hi All

I have a whirlpool Calypso Model GVW9959KL1 about 15 years old.

The unit will not turn on no lights on touch panel.

120VAC Electrical Supply Test

1. Check for 120VAC on the power cord connection to the line filter ...PASS

2. Check for 120VAC on the line filter connection to the machine controller ...PASS

3. Check for 120VAC to the control board. With the washer off but connected to the AC outlet,
measure the AC voltage between Pins 4 and 2 at connector P16...PASS

Water Inlet and Dispenser Solenoid Test

1. Check the electrical connections to the valves...PASS

2. Check the resistance at the contacts shown in the following table. If resistance is outside of
range, replace the complete water inlet and dispenser assembly. resistance 800-1200 ..PASS (I AM ASSUMING 1.11 IS 1100) I have enclosed pictures to see if I have meter setup properly

Checking Touchpad Functioning:
Before replacing the control board, check for proper touchpad functioning as follows:
• Disconnect the power cord from the outlet.
• Remove the connectors P11 and P12 from the control board.
• Using the Key Switch Matrix below, measure the resistance across the switch when the
touchpad is pressed.
NOTE: The meter must be connected with the proper polarity

All buttons measured within .2 from 5.65 - 5.85

I at first thought it was the control board I tried replacing the control board Part # 8571359 and I replaced it...No dice I reinstalled old board.. At this point I figure I am doing something wrong or not checking ohms proper

Anyone have any advice on how to proceed...

Thank You
Anthony

No, they all ohm test fine, that's not the problem, the problem is the keypad assembly has a short in it, that's why its not working.:)

Thanks again...My instinct was telling me the touch pad to begin with...But when everything checked out in test I opted for cheaper part first. I found a used touch pad for $109 delivered ...Already ordered it
Not to bad considering how much a new machine would be.

I'll let you know how it goes

Peace
Anthony

If no screw is mounting it, then it should just twist to turn off.
