So we had our Whirlpool dishwasher of around 7~ years die on us today. Well, when I say "die", I mean it just won't wash anything. I made doubly sure the filter was cleaned out by using our shopvac to suck any bit of food and material out of the dishwasher. It seems like only a tiny bit of water is coming out into the wash area. I know that newer dishwashers don't need nearly as much water as older ones, but it's pretty pathetic just how little water is coming out. With the door closed on a normal cycle, I put my ear up to the dishwasher and something sounds like its quietly moaning, which it wasn't before. And of course, at the end of a full cycle none of the dishes have even been touched with water.
I'm REALLY hoping that this can be fixed by myself as unfortunately our dishwasher is out of warranty and we don't have the funds necessary to hire a plumber to come check it out. Does anyone have any ideas on what to do?
I did try out the Diagnostic Code thing but that just lights up every single thing on the dishwashers control panel. Every light and every word. There doesn't seem to be any "code" to make out, but I could be looking at it wrong. Any advice on this would be hugely appreciated as my folks are getting up there in age and I don't have the time to handwash all their dishes every single day. I'd love to, believe me, I'd do anything for my parents, but there is just a limited amount of time in a day...
