Based on some threads and error code 43, my recirulator pump is bad. Are the pumps repairable or rebuidable? I think list price for a replacement is $340. We bought the dishasher on sale for $300.
And (maybe this is a whine) - this is our third dishwasher in 12 years. Is it normal for something to fial every three to four years?

Years and years ago, yes. Stuff made in the last 20 years till now, not really.

Most we see get 5-8 years.

Jeff,
Thanks for your response. Turns out I have had this dishwasher about 5 and a half years, so I guess we are just on the lower range of expected life. Time to go dishwasher shopping. And with a family of 6, I guess we got OK use of it.

For sure ours would get a lot more work when all of the kids where home......funny how things lasted longer and got beat up less when the kids moved out
