My dishwasher decided to stop one night after a load and is not starting at all. There are no lights nothing whatsoever. I have tried to check the fuse but cannot find it in the control box, front door or the touch panel.
Can someone please help with this?

Did you check with a multimeter for 120 volts where the main power comes into the dishwasher? You don't have a separate fuse on this model, its integrated into the control board.

Here's the parts diagram for your model:
#19 is the junction box cover where the dishwasher wire nuts attach to your main power. Those wire nuts could have come loose or something else happened, but make sure you have 120 volts coming into the dishwasher there.

If you have 120 volts there, its possibly the door latch switch is bad. This happened to me on service call in Blythe, California on a customers dishwasher, no lights no nothing. And sure enough the door latch switch did not have continuity when the door was closed. I ordered and installed the new door latch switch and it worked perfect!

1. Open and close door, and then press Start/Resume key.
2. Unplug dishwasher or disconnect power.
3. Measure resistance of door switch contacts while checking mechanical operation of latch assembly.

Check the resistance of the door switch with a multimeter. Should be less than one ohm. High ohms=bad switch.

Here's the door latch switch assembly for your model you can order if yours is bad:

There is a video in the door latch switch part link that shows you how to remove it and replace it.

Hi Jake,

I checked the door switch and it has continuity when the door is closed and no continuity when its open. I checked it while the door latch switch was installed on the door rather than taking it off like you had it in the picture - just mentioning it in case it does make a difference. I was wondering how the door latch switch is related to this issue because the lights would turn on even when the door was open when the dishwasher was working properly - asking for my own future reference.

There is also power to the dishwasher. Thanks!

What are my options now? Should I go ahead and try a new door latch switch or try a new control board? There was heavy lightning the night this stopped working so I am thinking the board could have been fried but there are no burn marks on it.

Your door switch is good.

Yes, that's the problem then. Ok, disconnect power to your dishwasher and remove the control board and the plastic casing around the control board and check for any burnt spots on the control board.

Here's the control board for your model:

Thanks a bunch Jake for the instructions. The board seems to have no burn marks at all. Is there a way to rule out the touch interface (or whatever its called) if that's the culprit? Or alternatively, check the control board using a multi-meter?

Fuse Resistance Check: 1. Unplug the dishwasher or disconnect power. 2. Measure resistance of F8 Fuse and/or F9 Fuse. NOTE: Fuses are on the bottom of the Control Board but can be checked from the top side. See “Control Pinout” diagram.
If resistance is < 3 Ω, then fuse is OK.
If resistance is > 3 Ω, then fuse is open

Did you take the board completely out of its plastic casing and flip it over and look on the other side for burnt spots?

If so, and none present, I'm attaching your tech. data sheet below, look on page 9 where it says--->Won’t Run or Power Up (“Dead” Keypad/ Console)
- No operation
- No keypad response
- No LEDs or display

Here's the user interface for your model:

Hi Jake,
I hadn't taken out the board completely out of its plastic casing but I did after you pointed it out. There are no burn marks on it. While I had it out, I also checked F8 and F9 and both had <1 Ohm resistance. Although when I would touch the probes, the reading would start from 90 or 1410 sometimes and then it stabilized to lower than 1 Ohm. Not sure if thats an issue.
Does this mean the control board is fine and touch panel is the last part remaining and that must be bad or is there a way to check and rule it out as well?
Thanks so much for all your help so far...

Ok, put the control board back in place and all the electrical connectors back in place too, then do this test below.

- Unplug dishwasher or disconnect power.
- Disassemble door and disconnect keypad connection JUST from control board.:)
- Verify all other connections to control board are made.
- Reassemble door, but do not close door.
- Plug in dishwasher or reconnect power.
- Wait at least 7 seconds for control board to power up completely.
- Close dishwasher door and monitor control board response:
A. If control board is OK, it will respond by turning on the drain motor for 2 minutes. Replace control panel keypad(aka user interface).
B. If control board is not OK, it will not turn on drain motor. Wait for at least 10 seconds. If there is still no drain response, then replace control board or LCD display module (whichever one the keypad was connected to).

Hi Jake,

I purchased a new control board and this time the lights turned on the touch pad but when I select a cycle, it doesn't start rather the START and the little Washing light starts blinking. I can select different cycles and cancel on the touch pad.
IF I disconnect the touch pad and run the test you had mentioned earlier, it doesn't do anything.

Please NOTE that for both these tests, I had the control board and the touch pad on a wooden stool meaning that they were not properly installed and neither the door was installed. I don't know if that could be the cause but unless there are hidden sensors on the door or else where that detect this, this should not be a problem. What do you think?

Make sure that the delay function is not on when pressing start and also make sure the door latch you had taken off is back together and latching correctly otherwise the start light will flash thinking the door is open.

I checked the latch thoroughly and it appears to close properly. I will take another look just to make sure. But if lights keep flashing, does it always mean that it thinks the door is open? Thanks!

Did you do this TEST above? that's the ONLY way to know where the problem lies.:)
