Hi all,

I have a WDT710PAYM3 dishwasher that recently started occasionally leaking from the bottom corners of the door. I believe I know what is defective. There is a seal that runs along the bottom of the dishwasher door, right where the door meets the tub - mine is completely corrupted and has been flaking and cracking off for a while (see attached pictures - the camera is inside the dishwasher pointing out).

The issue is that no matter how hard I look, I cannot find this part on the Whirlpool website. The only two seals available are:
  1. whirlpoolparts.com/PartDetail/Seal/W10837566/4363329?modelNumber=WDT710PAYM3
  2. whirlpoolparts.com/PartDetail/Door-Seal/W10542314/2409202?modelNumber=WDT710PAYM3
Now, I suppose it's possible that that first part could fix my issue, but I'm skeptical because I can literally see the other seal completely deteriorating. The second part seems to be an unrelated seal that goes near the top, by the control board.

Does anyone know how I can get this lower door seal?

It doesn't show a lower door seal for your model:
#11 is the upper door seal

#3 is the main tub seal

Usually its the lower spray arm that cracks, then starts leaking water out the door. Have you checked your lower spray arm for cracks in it?

Here's the lower spray arm for your model:

If no cracks in the lower spray arm, then look here:

Check to make sure the Pump Housing (Sump Cover) is not cracked or broken and its snapped into place properly.

Hi,

Is it just me as I don't see a gasket on the bottom of the door?
Parts breakdown doesn't help as I couldn't find a live picture of the inner door panal.....maybe a gasket is attached to the inner door panal.

You mean you don't see it in the schematics, right?

Thanks for the reply, Jake. I do not notice any cracks on the lower spray arm or pump housing, and both appear to be in place properly. Any idea why that seal I've taken pictures of isn't shown in the schematics, or in the parts listing? Could it be it comes with the inner door panel?

Your pics, parts breakdown either.
Unless it only comes with the inner door panal.
Maybe call a parts depot and ask them to check the panal that they have in stock to see if the new inner panal has a gasket preinstalled on the bottom.

Sorry but all I see are gookus on the bottom of the door in your pics :(

Unless I'm mistaken, I believe that gookus IS the gasket. It is disintegrated to the point that it looks that way.

I found this picture of the inner door panel that shows that there isn't a gasket on the bottom of the inner door.

Based on some of the doubts raised by @jeff1 and @Robert4 here, I'm beginning to think that that stuff I photographed really is just gunk and not a gasket/seal of any kind (hence why the part doesn't seem to exist anywhere).

I think the most logical next step for me then would be to try replacing the main tub seal as linked to by @Jake. Please let me know if you guys think there's something else I should try first.

For sure check the lower arm and arm support to make sure nothing there could spray water directly at the door area.
