Hey Folks. I had a tech come out and replace the two rollers and belt in my dryer. I still get a squealing/squeaking noise when I run it(with heat or no heat). He thinks that potentially the motor is going bad. I must add one night the dryer stopped running but after I unplugged it and let is sit, everything was back up and fine.

Do you guys think I need to replace the motor?

Hi,

The motor does have an built in safety/overheat device that once tripped will need cooling down time to reset.

Motor and idler pulley is probably in your future or a new dryer.

The tech did say my motor was hotter than normal yesterday. I tested out the idler puller and it seemed to spin fine.

We opted just to buy a new dryer. I'm a worst case scenario thinker so I didn't want to buy 120 bucks for a new motor just to find out it wasn't the fix.
